The To-Read Pile

Posted: February 12, 2012 in Reading

Currently reading – A Storm of Swords by George R. R. Martin (book three of Song of Fire and Ice)

I’m not going to try to put a picture of the cover on as much as I want to because I think that’s why my posts keep getting deleted.

But I am enjoying the book immensely. The series is going places that are awesomesause. There are things added to the Westeros mythos that are unexpected but still fitting in with the world. Jaqen H’ghar is my favorite new character to show up in this book so far. I’m hoping Arya goes to find him again. The added bonus of reading this right now is that there are two other guys at work reading Song of Fire and Ice, one on book four and one on the first.

Then? After catching up with this series I want to attack Myke Cole’s Shadow Ops: Control Point. The book’s been getting awesome reviews all over the place. But the real kicker that made me want to read the hell out of it was the Big Idea over on Scalzi’s blog. Then I’m thinking of picking up Saladin Ahmed’s Throne of the Crescent Moon. I’ve got a penchant for mass market paperbacks and it’s only available in hardcover right now, but it sounds epic so I don’t think I want to wait. I’m also trying to figure out how to get Kylie Chan’s second trilogy in America. Australia isn’t sharing that one yet.

Also, dear WordPress. Where do my posts keep going? I just lost a nice long post about my to-read pile twice in a row. Not cool.
